Located at on I-70 at Exit 31, Energy Transport Solution’s Cargo Tank Repair Facility provides companies with DOT truck and tank inspections and repairs. ETS is a Federally Certified Cargo Tank Facility able to perform inspections and repairs for MC330, MC331, MC306, MC312, DOT406, DOT407 and DOT412 Cargo Tanks.

ETS is a family owned and operated trucking company specializing in petroleum liquids. Our Headquarters are located in Bates City MO and our new location that we expanded in 2018 is in Rock Port MO. We are growing to meet the changing needs of our customers and our industry. The Bates City location features our Cargo Tank repair shop, main office, secured truck and trailer yard, and storage warehouse. We have a growing fleet of trucks and a broad range of trailers to meet the demands of our customers during different times of the year.

The Kolkmeyer family has been in the propane and refined fuels business since 1955.  The company was started by Omer and Dorothy Kolkmeyer.  The propane company was then called Wellington Oil & Gas Co. and was operated in the home of the Kolkmeyer’s.  They began selling propane and home heating fuel with 2 trucks and a bulk plant.

Over the years they branched out and bought a transport truck and trailer to haul propane.  The company has been in the trucking business since 1972.  When their son Glen graduated high school, he began working as a driver and he started expanding the retail propane business by purchasing several local propane companies.

In 2007 the Wellington Oil & Gas Co. sold its refined fuels business to MFA Oil Company and in 2008 sold its retail propane operation to AmeriGas Propane.  The name was changed to Energy Transport Solutions and has been expanding and streamlining the transport business and now hauls products in 10 Midwest states.  ETS provides services to both national and local propane marketers, agri-business, farmers and industrial accounts.

Today, the company’s daily operation is managed by the Kolkmeyer’s third generation, Eric Kolkmeyer as the Vice-President. Eric is a graduate of The University of Central Missouri and a veteran of the United States Army and MO National Guard. In 2003, Eric was activated for Operation Armored Falcon which was tasked with security detail for the B-2 Bomber at Whitman Air Force Base. ETS currently employs 2 Army Veterans that served on Operation Armored Falcon, Operations Manager Patrick Kerr and Senior Driver Kenny Jobe.

Eric serves on the Missouri Propane Gas Association and is the former MOPERC Chairman. Glen Kolkmeyer is currently serving in the Missouri House of Representatives in the 53rd district. Glen is a Past President of the Missouri Propane Gas Association. ETS is active members of the Missouri Truckers Association and the Missouri Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association.

ETS takes pride in being involved in the community by helping Non-Profit organizations. ETS is an active partner and participant with the Wellington Fair Board, Operation Christmas Child, Odessa Parks and Rec, Higginsville Chamber of Commerce, and the Bates City Police Department “Shop with a Cop”. The Kolkmeyer’s annually volunteer on mission trips to Brazil to help build churches, do medical clinics and serve food. Lisa speaks fluent Portuguese and acts as interpreter for the Mission Team.
